CAUTION SIGN PURCHASERS

With regard to Sky Sign equipment NEW OR USED, the rules are as follows: Public Law 104-264 and enforced by FAA 14 CFR 21.2 or 21.12 states that the STC holder, in this case Sky Sign, Inc., must issue a certificate of use to anyone authorized by Sky Sign, Inc., to use the equipment. This makes Sky Sign, Inc. the STC/PMA holder, the sole authority in this regard.
The FAA will ground anyone operating without a certificate issued in the name of the operation or individual, and the aircraft N # and Serial # it is assigned to. The FAA also has the right to fine anyone operating without a certificate from Sky Sign, Inc. With this ruling in place, the integrity of the electronic aerial advertising business will be maintained, which will benefit all legitimate operators.
As a certified customer of Sky Sign, Inc., you receive training on all aspects of the operation, warranty and extended warranty, if desired.
  You have the confidence of operating with factory support for parts and supplies. As a certified operator, you would be eligible to be part of our national network for large advertisers nationwide.

If you are new to this business, we do not recommend buying used equipment in the field. Getting started, you need the reliability of new equipment. Once you are well established, buying additional or backup equipment in the field has a place.
In many cases, people have spent considerable more money than if they purchased new equipment. Costly delays getting started, totally destroyed signs due to improper crating and shipping, aging equipment with limited parts availability. Keep in mind, Sky Sign, Inc. has been making signs for over 30 years and there are old signs that could never be economically restored to operating condition.
